The Challenge
The car park was facing a couple of key challenges:
Non-customers occupied spaces 24/7, blocking access for patrons and staff, as many cars were parked all day and evening by local residents, workers, and patrons of nearby shops.
Existing “patrons only” signs were ignored, and previous parking enforcement efforts failed.

Implementing ANPR & Clear SignageWe set up an ANPR camera and rolled out clear signage that let drivers either register their vehicle inside the premises for free customer parking or pay for parking via a simple app-based system using QR codes.
Staff Training & Habit BuildingTo keep things running smoothly, we trained the staff to check if customers had registered their vehicles and remind them to do it using an iPad. This quick process quickly became second nature for both the team and customers.
Introducing a Fair & Flexible System15 minutes of free parking was offered to those visiting nearby shops to support the local community. Customers who needed extra time could easily pay via their smartphone, creating an additional revenue stream.
